2 more sleeps!!!

Two more sleeps and I will be flying to Calgary to see my bestest friend and meet her baby!!! I cant hardly wait can ya tell!?!?! I am very nervous to fly but it will sooooo be worth it!

Today was another meh day, very busy at work today so that went by fast, stayed within my points but weighed myself this morning and I was up 2.8 lbs!?!?!? How the F does that work!! I feel like no one reads my blog!? Am i wasting my time?? I feel like I am doing this to be accountable but accountable to who??? Just need to get some motivation back... I always do this, at the very beginning I am so determined and then I slowly dwindle off, but I will not allow it! I will stay on track and DO THIS! SP started WW on tuesday so when I go to Calgary I should be able to stay OP because we will be doing it together while I am there. I wish the scale was my friend, I wish it showed me something better and maybe I would be more excited... or maybe I should just not weigh myself until Wednesday when it's my weigh in day... I am sure I will weigh myself tomorrow and hopefully it will show me something better.

RB and I took the girls up the the winter carnival tonight to the parade. They had hot chocolate and I had a large skim milk latte with sugar free caramel syrup.. it was good but not sure how many points it would be. Pretty sure 0 for the syrup, but not sure how much milk they use?? We walked around for a while befor the parade started, it was so cold up there but the girls enjoyed it. There were really cool fire dancers in the parade too. The girls got some candies... I had one werthers original and a mint chewy thing, shouldnt have but I did... oh well tomorrow is another day!

Pizza Cups

Well another day done, tracked everything today, feeling under the weather so I didn't have much of an appetite today but I made sure to eat.

I am doing ok.. not great but ok, I get into weird moods somedays, I feel like will I ever be where I want to be, will I ever feel completely happy with mysefl??? There are still so many areas of my body I am unhappy with. For one I would never wear a shirt that shows off my arms, I have a lot of excess skin and its just grosse... I am just having one of those days. I want to throw in the towel and say forget it and just eat everything in sight, but I know I will regret it in the morning. Blogging is keeping me accountable. I write everything I eat and share it with you all ( if you are anyone??) and I couldn't bare to write down the things I ate if I would binge, it would be scary so maybe that will help me....

Just a rough day, probably because Im sick again today, get off the pitty potty I know.. hopefully tomorrow is better day..

Weigh In

Well like I said all week I have been up.... BUT I weighed in today and I am down to 170, so down 1.6 lbs from last week! YAAAYYYY.

My brother and I went to the States today for grocery shopping, I got lots of stuff for my meals for the week!

Yeahhhh and I cheated today, usually I do, but usually I go all out all day long, today I had a delicious cupcake from this little cupcake shop in the town we went to for groceries. And for supper the girls and I had breakfast! I didn't really splurge on anything except for the bacon mmm real bacon how I love you! We had heartsmart bisquick pancakes with blueberries, simply potatoes shredded hashbrowns, and srambled eggs. It was very yummy and I don't feel I cheated as I usually do! So thats good!

Back on track tomorrow! Looking forward to it!!

Swollen..

I have been weighing myself everyday for the past three days and I am not down at all from last week, this morning I am up almost 1 lb... I notice in my rings, normally they feel like they are going to fall off but this last week they are tight, I am hoping its just water weight from TOM... I have tracked everything all week and been completely OP! Tomorrow will be the official WI and then I'm moving on!

Went and had the best massage this morning, I have been getting a lot of headaches this past week and I layed down on the massage table and she pressed on my shoulder blade and her hand practically slid off a knot in my back and she says "Well there's your headache", I feel much better now, so hopefully the headaches will subside for a while. I am looking forward to grocery shop in the States tomorrow on my day off! I am running low on some snack stuff for the girls for school and some staples for myself.

I have my meals all planned for the week, so I go through ever meal and make my grocery list from there so I don't have to run out on my work days to pick up things for supper. I said befor, my key to success is PLANNING, yes it takes some time and energy, but it pays off in the long run. When i get home from work I don't have to think about what am I gonna make? I know and I do it.

I am going to guzzle down water water and more water to hopefully get rid of some of this salt my body is holding onto!

Any way to get in Excersize

We finally got a dump of snow here, the girls got new sleds for Christmas and we haven't got to use them yet! So last night they asked "Do you have to work again tomorrow?", and finally I could say nope I have tomorrow off. So we went tobogganing today! It was so much fun! The girls love it and it's a great way to get in some fun excersize! The hill we go to is two minutes away from our house! The hill is big so going up is a challenge, but feels good to have with them and burn some calories!

Since our huge snow dump I haven't shoveled yet! We don't have a shovel so I went out today after tobogganing and bought one from CND Tire. I ripped through the heavy snow in about 15 minutes! Another great way to burn some calories. I have a feeling my arms are going to feel it tomorrow!

This week I am going to try to excersize at least an hour per day. Tuesday and Wednesdays are easy because RB and I do Zumba, and Mondays Thursdays and Fridays we walk around the arena for half an hour. So to get in an extra half hour I am going try some of my Biggest Loser workout videos I have, or play Just Dance or Zumba for Wii with the girls! Looking forward to it! I am thinking this weeks WI won't be to great because TOM is here! I feel swollen and bloated so we will see. Ill try to drink extra water these next few days but it's ok, if I don't see a good number I will not let it ruin my determination!

Back to work tomorrow then two off in a row! YIPEEE! Going for my massage on Tuesday and I can't wait! Trying a new recipe tonight because all of our leftovers are gone, besides one more bowl of Green Pepper soup! I told you it made A LOT!!

SO MUCH SNOW!

Wow well we have been hearing for a while now that we were supposed to get some snow, and we sure did today! Its a winter wonderland out there! Hopefully it stays till Sunday so we can go toboganing! The girls got new sleds for Christmas and we haven't got to use them yet! I love tobogganing! Its fun and its a great way to get in more excersize! Speaking of excersize...RB and I went for another walk today around the arena! It was busy in there tonight cause there was a hockey game going on. When we got home we ate and hung out for a bit then the girls and I went downstairs to try my Zumba for WII! WOW!!!! Sooo much fun!! I loved it and boy is it a workout! I didnt do it for long because the girls wanted to play Just Dance! So I did three songs and worked up a sweat and then we played Just Dance for WII for about an hour! We were all sweaty and hot so we called it quits and now we are going to enjoy our favourite show! Grey's Anatomy that I have PVRd from Thursday night.

I did not make Taco Junk tonight because I had to use up some leftovers! I will probably be having some more soup tomorrow as well. I have to work tomorrow then after work I will be prepping a fruit tray and heading out for a ladies night! So needless to say I won't really have time to make a new recipe for supper tomorrow.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!

Weigh In

Well I think I told you all that I weigh myself all the time! I weighed myself on Sunday when BM was home, and after 4 days of being not on track I was back up to my original weight... so I went for it for the last few days and I am happy to say I am down .8! I am really happy with that loss this week!

Now Wednesdays are usually my no track day.. but I felt good today and stayed OP all day! YAY for me! I tried another recipe tonight for diner and mmmmm soo good and the twins LOVED it! Definetly making it again, it was Bean Burrito casserole. I have my weekly meal plan that I posted a few days ago and so far I have made the meatloaf and the bean burrito casserole. Now since BM isn't home I have sooo many leftovers in my fridge! So I may have to have a night of just some leftovers. They are great for lunch but I dont usually like to have a lot of points for my lunches, I like to save more points for supper time. So we'll see. I might have meatloaf another two days and spruce that up by putting it on a sandwich and toasting it in my George Foreman ( I got the idea of using George Foreman as a panini grill from TJs Test Kitchen!)

Not much to write about tonight...

Another Day, Another Recipe

Well another day on track! I had a really good day off today! Brought one of the twins to the dentist this morning. In the sumer we were on a walk and she picked up a rock and it hit her tooth and chipped her front tooth(other twin did the same thing but twirling around a pole). So we were at the dentist today for about an hour and a half getting a filling put on her front tooth. She did really well. I get more nervous for them than they are. After her dentist appointment I brought her to school, went home for about half an hour and calculated the points for tonights supper, then went and got my hair did!

For Christmas BM got me a gift certificate to get my hair done! I had no idea what I was going in for, all I knew was that I wanted a change! I LOVE my long hair but I was getting bored with the plain dark brown hair colour. My hairdresser is amazing! It's actually my good friend RB's sister! Well anyways, she asked me what I wanted when I got there and I said no clue do whatever you want! So she ended up putting some caramel highlights in and just lightened it up a bit. Not a huge change in cut, just a trim and she reshaped my bangs! I LOVE it!

I thought I would blog now because RB and I have ZUMBA tonight! Then when I get home it's Biggest Loser night as well as Teen Mom(remember when I said I loved reality TV!) so I will want to watch that when I get home because I don't get home until about 8:15. I will just update my snacks throughout the night While I go to Zumba I drop the girls off at the swimming pool for about an hour!

Today was another great day of tracking! I had leftovers from last nights supper for lunch today and just added a few things to make it a meal! I bought the Southwest Ranch Special K chips from the states when I was last there and let me tell you! YUM! You get about 27 chips for only 2 points! By the way when I say points I do not do PointsPlus. The old way has worked for me so that's what I stick to. Feel free to calculate points according to PointsPlus if you would like!

 Thursday

 Friday
Taco Casserole
Saturday
Chilli dog casserole with cornbread topping
Sunday
Chicken and cheese spaghetti

I can't wait to try all of these recipes. I found most of these on other sites but I change some things to what I have in the house or I will change it to make it more WW friendly. If you try anything or have any ideas how I can lighten them up more please leave me a comment!
I have been on track all day and feeling great! I notice when I eat healthy and make good choices I feel so much better at the end of the day! Work was ok today, computer crashed right at the end of the day so that put a crink into things. Made me rush a little more to get out of there on time. The reason I wanted to get out on time is that RB and I have started walking laps in our arena around the ice rink. We were able to do 11 laps in half an hour! Feels good to get my but moving! We are going to try and get faster and faster as we go. And I would like to start couch potato to 5k runner sometime in the future.

I am so proud today of my choices! I tried something new for breakfast today and a new recipe for supper!
I have posted some pics of my lunch and dinner I made. It was sooo yummy! The sauce was a little sweet but very delicious! I will definetely be making this again!

Much Needed Shop

BM and I just got home from a much needed grocery shop in Colville WA. I planned out two weeks of supper starting tomorrow night and I will begin posting pictures and recipes either tomorrow or Monday! Its so much easier shopping in the states. For one it is wayyy cheaper and secondly there is so many more options! I try to go there every two weeks and sometimes every weekend! I LOVE to grocery shop! I love finding new things. I honestly could walk through the grocery store for hours on end just looking around!

I am super tired, I worked all day today and then right after work we drove the hour it takes to go get grocery. Short blog tonight. Can't wait to begin my journey cooking, blogging and posting pictures. Found some really cool ideas to make for suppers so stay tuned for what will follow!

Night, XO

Friday 13 January 2012

Friday is my Thursday

Well today is Friday but actually its my thursday. I have to work Saturdays and I get Sundays off then back to it Monday. We had some changes at work so I get Tuesdays and Wednesdays off if chose for my two consecutive days. Makes it hard having the girls by myself most of the time because we can't do much together on weekends. I weighed myself today scared to see what it would say and I figured as much, I am up 1.6 pounds. I have issues with the scale.... I tend to weigh myself at least once a day. I know your not supposed to, I know you should only weigh yourself once a week, but I can't do it. It gives me a calming feeling to know exactly everyday how much i weigh. I was txting DS last night and we were talking about eating and yes although I am doing WW I still have the flexibility to eat what I want and enjoy life and not have to be restricted. I can go out once or a twice a week and use up my extra weeklies, or I can just not track a day but know I will get back on it the next day or so. Its a change that I have made in my thinking. I used to think ok well if i screwed up this day then mine as well screw up this entire week then this entire month! Now I can go off track for a day or two and then the next day Im right back at it. Its always like that when BM comes home. But then the two weeks hes gone I follow strictly and track everything. It reminds me that I am human and I am not a robot and I can eat bad a few days and get back on the trackin train!

So, although I have to work tomorrow BM the girls and I are going to watch some movies tonight and eat our yummy steak supper tonight.

I just wanted to give you (don't know who YOU are yet?) two of my fav breakfast ideas.  For breakfast I tend to eat the same thing every morning, but because I cant think of anything else but because I love these little Sandwiches. I got the idea from a fellow blogger TJ's Test Kitchen. Its a wonderful breakfast sandwich. I switch it up now and again but usually its the same thing. I start off with my high fibre english muffin. I do a lot of my grocery shopping in the USA because I live ten minutes from the border. I use Sarah Lee light english muffins a morningstar sausage soy patty, and usually a slice of cheese or a wedge of LC herb and garlic cheese. If I am really hungry when I wake up I will cook 1/4 cup( my Great Value brand is 1 pt for a 1/4 cup and also still 1 pt for 1/2 cup) of liquid eggs in the microwave and put that on my sandwich as well. I find using 1/4 cup is plenty of egg for my sandwich so I don't use the 1/2 cup. It is a GREAT 5 or 6 point breakfast sandwich. Ill post a picture of one tomorrow!

If I want more protein I will have 1/4 cup of light cottage cheese and one of those fruit cups drained and mixed in mmmm. I actually  just started to like cottage cheese about 4 months ago. I always thought it looked disgusting so I would never eat it. I thought it was like chunky rotten curds of chesse EWWW. And then I had some leftover from a lasagne one day and I thought What the heck I mine as well try a little on my tongue and see what it tastes like right? Well im glad I did, it has so much protein in it and I can use it in sooo many different ways. I like it with fruit or with sliced cucumbers with some salt and pepper mmmm. Aslso I love cream salad dressing so i use it as salad dressing with SandP and top it with some chopped almonds and mmm its delish!

Dinner
Dinner I will more than likely not be on point and unable to track things, we are going out for BM's late birthday supper. He works away so he was not home for his birthday so we are going out tonight to a local restaurant.

I used to have the mentality that if I was going to be unable to track my points for a supper out then hey I mine as well forget the rest of that day and eat crap all day! I am trying to get out of that habit and not sabotage an entire day just because of one meal. I find it very hard to eat on point when he is home. He is fit and weighs a good amount for the size of his body. So we usually go out one night and then have steak supper (steak, garlic mashed potatoes, beans, ceasar salad and garlic bread mmmmm) once while hes home. The rest of the nights I will be making WW recipes I have found over time. I am going to try taking some pictures and giving some reviews on the things I make. I find nothing worse than cooking something and its awful! Maybe a goal of mine would be to track every meal when BM is home the next time? We shall see!

I went to Zumba last night with RB and it was awesome as usual. I am feeling it in the upper thighs today tho! It was the second night back since we were off for about three weeks because of Christmas and New Years. Tuesday night was insane! I have never seen so many people! Its always fun when there is new people trying it out because u can hear them laughing and moving around. It feels really good to get back into it. RB and I are planning to head to our arena on Monday and we are going to walk laps around the ice and I will let the girls run wild in there which will also get them moving. We want to do our Zumba twice a week and get some more carido in maybe another 2 or 3 times a week. I also got the new Zumba game for Wii that I havent had a chance to check out yet! But when I do I will give u a review of the game.

Tonight after supper BM and I are looking forward to watching some Jersey Shore and then Grey's Anatomy(BM not so much this one, I may just PVR it, altho the girls love this show). I am a huuuge reality TV lover. I feel like im escaping my life for an hour and living through others dram haha.  When BM goes back to work I am going to start my meal plans on here and reviews of what I made.

But for now looking forward to a nice Birthday supper out!

Getting to Know me...

My name is Jessica, I have been wanting to start a blog about weight loss, recipes and well basically my everyday life as it happens.. something was always holding me back and I dont know what it was. My BGF (best girl friend) and I were talking today about one of her blog posts from the day, and then we started talking about our goals for this year and how much I enjoy cooking! So I thought what better time to start writing than now! My goals and hopes for this blog is not only to help myself through my weight loss, excersize and cooking journey but to help others.

I have dealt with weight issues my entire life, as early as I can remember I was always "bigger or thicker" than everyone else. At the age of 14 I started going to Weight Watchers with my Aunty, she went for a long time and she was a Lifetime member and looked great. When you are 14, counting points is hard! I did not know how to cook then, and I lived with my Dad at the time. I remember eating soooooo much Chicken! I would cook plain chicken and put it in a ziplock bag and eat that for Lunch! How boring is that!!! I remember WW working for me then (but I hated how horibly boring the food was), I remember going into meetings and having to weigh in and hoping every wednesday that I would see a loss on that scale. I lasted about 6 months going with my dear Aunt and then I flat out quit. I was always an athlete in school, playing field hockey, soccer, volleyball, basketball and tennis. But I was always "thicker".

During my grade twelve year my mom passed away from a car accident, and things changed after that as well. Some things just didn't seem to matter to me anymore. Graduation was a fun day but something I wished I could have shared with my mom. After high school I moved away with my BGF to Edmonton, Alberta. Our dreams were to become pipefitters like her Dad and work on the rigs! Well lets just say that didn't happen. We went there and noticed the cold and yeah that wasn't going to happen! So I ended up having a few jobs but most were office jobs(that were warm). I developed bad habbits (drinking, shopping and eating!) while living there. Like I said something didn't matter to me anymore. I noticed the weight gain about a year after graduation(at grad I was down to about 180lbs) when I was hovering 200 lbs. I lived in a house with eight other people, and we drank a lot and ate a lot of whatever someone else was cooking that night. My health was not important to me. I smoked (tobacco) a lot as well! Over the course of about 4 years I was at my heaviest weight ever... people don't beleive me I weighed this much ....... 235 lbs... yikes. I was depressed and hated a lot of things about myself. My friends never said anything to me about how awful I looked, because I have the most amazing friends in my life (SP, DS,RB,BM). They tell me now that they were worried about me and I can completely understand why they would be, because I worried myself at times. I was in a bad relationship and just ate my feelings away.

Then I met someone. I met someone that made me feel complete and made me feel the happiest I have ever felt. He met me when I was at my biggest and loved me and told me I was beautiful everyday. I started to see the weight come off. As did others.BM also has twin girls! Slowly I felt like I was beginning to get some control back in my life. I limited my portions, still ate whatever (what u do when your on WW) I wanted but cut out junk food for the most part and switched to eating lower point foods. BM(the love of my life) helped me with so many issues I had going on in my life. He taught me so many things and I have become a better and stronger person because of him. My BGF SP noticed a major change in me when we talked on the phone. I remember sitting outside of work talking to her on the phone telling her about him and telling her how happy I was (she lived in Calgary and we lived in Edmonton). But SP had not met BM yet so I needed her stamp of approval still! I mean don't get me wrong I was head over heals in Love but SP needed to give him the Ok for it to be all good haha. So I ended up losing about 50 pounds in 7 months or so and I felt amazing.

I began getting comfortable with where I was so my eating habits sort lingered off to the other side. I gained about 10 pounds back and then lost it, then gained it back and lost and so forth. After living in Edmonton for 4.5 years BM, the twins and I decided to move back to my home town. He got a job there first so we moved in December of 2009. I got a job at a Credit Union after about 9 months of being here.

I have been hovering around 176- 186 pounds the last two years and I have a Goal this year to get down to 150 lbs, I think the last time I weighed that I was in grade 6! I also want to start excersizing more too! Another great friend I met RB at work, has introduced me to the world of ZUMBA!!! So we do that two times a week, but I need to do more! My goal this year is not only to get down to 150, but to excersize more, cook more and track more!

I started WW ( I do it at home-no meetings, I use blogs for inspirations) a week ago today and I am down 3.4 lbs! I am getting back into tracking and planning planning planning. My key to success is my planning. I like to sit down on Sundays and write a meal plan for the week, as well as a grocery list for what i will need for my recipes. I love finding new recipes and trying them. PS Wednesdays are my Cheat days so I do absolutly no planning on Wednesday! I use that one day a week to eat whatever I want and count nothing! And yes I look forward to Wednesday by Thursday morning!  My hopes for this blog are to share some recipes I find, post some pictures and blog my WW journals as well!

Even if no one reads this blog I am going to use it to be accountable and to give me motivation to get er done!
